Madam Noor Jehan was a
Legend that I am sure everyone is aware of, but being a human being, being a
woman, being a daughter and being a mother her life was full of different
shades from love to sacrifice, from peace to restlessness, from a queen of
hearts to healer of hearts, a Messiah for many and a glamorous eye candy
for those with general perceptions.
EMI Pakistan Ltd,
Pakistan’s premier record label since 1948, held an exclusive Premiere of Gul-e-Daudi (TheChrysanthemum): In Tribute to Noor Jehan - a short film by acclaimed director
Umar Riaz.
In-short it is always
difficult to define a legend, but a tribute to a legend is a gesture to
acknowledge and praise the personality gracefully. EMI Pakistan Ltd, Pakistan’s premier record label since
1948. In this regard a short film of 15mins was produced to honor Madam Noor
Jehan.
The movie is non-verbal, contains no dialogues
or speeches instead the story is led by the songs of Madam.
The story seems nurtured with emotions build up
with songs in the background.
A story that describes the innocence of
childhood to energetic youth, love in adulthood and raging emotions and leading
a breakup, A beginning of a new life with enticing journey of spouse-hood and
then parenthood.
The end is really meaningful where the souls,
which were separated once, the love which was once dumped deep in the form of Gul e Daudi is once again revived, as
the souls departs the love reborn, though the flower is wilted
now but the beauty of love and so is the magic of Madam's voice is still alive
and spreading love and will
keep nurturing souls with the mesmerizing voice ever
after.
The concept is beautifully executed by team EMI Pakistan Ltd. & Umar Riaz. A great effort by who conceptualized
things at the best along with the hard efforts of the team working behind the
screen.
The Red carpet was attended by people from media
fraternity and friends and family of the director himself. Amongst the people
present at the Red Carpet were Adeel Hashmi with his wife, Nescafe Basement

Madam Noor Jahan was a legend for Pakistan music and film industry. It is very to good to remember such legends by arranging events and paying tribute to them. Nice post.
I always wondered why there is no book written on our legends. Although there exist some books but they are very few like Pervez Musharraf. Glad to know about this book written on Madam Noor Jahan.
