Review, Swatches & Tutorial: Essence Eyebrow Designer Pencil

Posted by Aamal Nauman at 08:37 0 comments

This is my first eyebrow pencil that I ever bought. I know you must be thinking "she's a makeup obsessed woman and doesn't own a single eye brow pencil", it's an inevitable fact though. The reason is because my eyebrows are already really thick and they never looked sparse or un-done even if I don't groom them or use brow makeup. Of course, I do tame them regularly by tweezing them.

As you all know, the hair growth reduces with age, leading thinning of hair and I thought now is the time I am in need of it. So, I bought the Essence eyebrow pencil in brunette.
SWATCH:

My reason of choosing the brunette shade is that I don't want to look like a weirdo with black dramatic eye brows. Plus, brown toned pencils are perfect for a more natural look. It also has an eyebrow brush attached to it's lid/cover. The bristles of the brush are hard and stiff which allow for taming heavy, thick and textured eyebrows perfectly.
The pigmentation of Essence eyebrow pencil is moderate. I won't claim it to do wonders because the texture of the pencil is slightly dry (it is might be due to the winter weather) . Anyways by applying a little pressure you can have it easily glide over the eyebrows.
DEMO / PICTORIAL:

STEP BY STEP TUTORIAL:
  1. I firstly tamed/groomed my eyebrows with the brush that's attached to the pencil.
  2. Then, I drew a line under my eyebrow over the brow bone area completely.
  3. Then on the upper side, I left a small half inched area and drew the line following my eyebrow shape.
  4. Then, I slightly sketched small strokes by filling in by brows (don't rub or drag the pencil to fill but just give quick light strokes) to make it look natural and full.
  5. Then I again tamed the brows with same brush in order to equalize and balance the color evenly.
PROS:
  • Brunette is a perfect shade for dark haired brows
  • Gives a naturally fuller eyebrows look
  • Affordable
  • Easily Available
  • Staying power is good
CONS:
  • Slightly dry in pigmentation

MY THOUGHTS:
I am pretty satisfied with this product.

Review & Swatches BH cosmetics Forever Glam Palette

Posted by Aamal Nauman at 08:39 2 comments
 Awesomeness is when you receive ur giveaway winnings.
Yup! This time I won this beautiful little treasure in a fun activity organised by our lively pbbc member Marium shahjahan...

First of all I am pretty impressed with its elegant packaging, I can't resist to appreciate Mariam's skills.

I am loving the size of the palette, esp. the big sized mirror so you can see your whole face clearly. The sleek matte black casing looks gorgeous .
To be honest I might have seen bh cosmetics Forever Glam palette on their website, but it was a random look. As I am having it, I think it's a complete little package perfect for a person like me who travels a lot. Carrying highlighter, blushers, lipglosses, eye shadows is a big headache for travelers. I think after having this palette I have earned loads of space in luggage *well I think that's a bit exaggerating*.
There are 6 eye shadows, one highlighter, 2 blushers and 2 lipbalms.

Here are the swatches for eye shadows. They are finely pigmented but not do dense in pigmentation. The dusky blue is the most poorly pigmented though it is the most tempting shade. Coral and other frosty shades are good in pigmentation. I love the frosty champagne n coral. The color selection is good, a combination of day time and night time looks eye shadows.

Highlighter is frosty white, good in pigmentation . There's no need of building it up. A slight sweep can be enough to pay off the product finely.

Blushers are also 50-50 in pigmentation, the coral pink with glitter one on the left is most poorly pigmented.I got only chunky glitter and no color on application. Even u can notice its silver glitter in swatch with no visible undertone. Pink is more of a bubble gum pink a cute girly shade. Again it is picked in order to achieve day or night look.

Lip balms or lipstick pans are good in pigmentation. No peculiar scent or anything . It feels buttery on lips. Nice and quite long lasting .

Positive points:
*travel friendly
*all in one makeup kit
*lipsticks are nicely pigmented

Negative points:
*eye shadows are moderately pigmented
*peach blush has gritty glitter
*no brush/applicator

My thoughts:

Overall a complete package in a not so small kit. Beautiful colour selection. Pigmentation is just fine,not over the top. You can buy it from bh cosmetics website or online Facebook pages selling it.

Classics Lipstick-203 Review & Swatches

Posted by Aamal Nauman at 08:01 2 comments
Classics is a Turkish brand under the surveillance of Golden Rose cosmetics. Although, Classics is not a popular brand and I am not sure about its availability too. I found a lipstick by this brand in a local store.

I was pretty impressed by the shades variety. But mostly it consisted mute and nude tones of pink,peach,brown and mauve. I selected Classics lipstick in 203. The lipstick has a transparent lid and and gray base, which looks very classy.

The color I selected is a light pink, but not a frosty pink, with coral undertones. Its quite a girly, bubbly and a young pink **I don't know how to define this gorgeous shade**.

As u can see in the swatches its a moisturizing lipstick with no frost or sheen but a semi matte finish. The bullet seems dry n matte but in application its slightly glossy. The only issue with this baby is its pigmentation, the consistency seems uneven when applied **I wonder why?? **. I builded the product a couple of times to show its consistency. But when applied on lips it tints the lips,its more of a nude gorgeous pink. Its staying power is average like other lippies. I have a bad habit of smacking lips so I avoid writing about durability. After I remove it, my lips are not left dry or chapped like most of the lipsticks do with my lips. In the image below i topped it with a nude pink gloss

Plus Points:

* Beautiful shade range
* Perfect for daily usage
* Moisturizing
* Moderately pigmented
* Affordable

Negative Points:

* Availability can be an issue
* Scent and powdery taste can be an issue ( like medora)

My Thoughts:
Overall a beautiful lipstick with classy tone. Moisturizing and without any frost ***I don't like frosty lipsticks***. I bought it for rs.350/- from ENEM liberty store.It might be available on other places or eBay as well.

i hope u like reading it.
